Aloha Indonesia,
How's life? Me, great :)
That statement on the title refers to me. Haghaghag :) This whole week was great. I taught ( and played) and also learned. Yes, finally I enrolled for French class at Alliance Francaise Medan. As a beginner, I learn from basic (the alphabeth, salutation, presentation about myself). In this class, there are about 15 persons, most of them are students, and the rest are workers and lecturer.
Okay, why did I say that statement on the title? Because, I was surprised that my french classmate that sat beside me was a junior high school (grade 9). When I asked her (she is an Indonesian girl) about her motivation, she said that she want to improve her skill and hope that someday she can continue her study abroad. And then, I asked myself 'Ingrid, where have you been?'
I remember the day I got 'one chair' in Sastra Jepang (2005). At the same time, I also got in Tax Administration. My parents told me to take Tax Administration for 'the bright' future. I know that they want the 'best' for me. So I took Tax Administration and didn't fight for Sastra Jepang.
And then, skip to 2013, I realize that wasn't their fault. That's me, who didn't fight for what I really want. I didn't take the risk. Yes, that WAS me. My life was flat, because I didn't plant and pursue my dreams. I love languages but still afraid about the next question, what if I fail? haghaghag.
Now, I quit my job as a tenant relation in one of Lippo Malls Group. I take a french course, attend for Esperanto class, and practice my English conversation.
About the girl, sat next to me, I think she is on her way to pursue her dreams :)
Oh ya, this whole week, I join as a teacher assistant in one of national plus school in Medan. I get 2 weeks training class. I teach the young learner, KG A. The kids are so great. I hope I can give my contribution in this school and enjoy the colourful day and my activities :)
Cheers,
Ingrid Tambun
